Hi
I’m Gigi and I teach yoga. I grew up in a somewhat unusual community steeped in yogic practice. I started doing yoga about twenty five years ago, finally decided to get certified in 2021, and I’m so grateful I made that decision.
Yoga isn’t about perfect poses- in fact it’s impossible for yoga to ever be perfect which is part of the beauty of it. Practicing postures and learning to work with our breath is an effortless way to let our minds and bodies transcend and rejuvenate.
After practicing yoga for many years, I moved to Houston and took a class that changed my perception of what modern yoga could be. Instead of building to a specific peak pose during our practice, the instructor passed out tennis balls for us to massage the connective tissue in our butts. It felt amazing, and also a little goofy. I think yoga should be fun, playful, and make us want to come back to our mats- something we do for ourselves to be at our best even when life gets hectic.
Being ERYT200 and in the process of finishing my MS in Integrative medicine, I’ve seen that every body tells its own story. In my private lessons, I focus on crafting personalized sequences that involve both flexibility and mobility, which involves strength. My approach is all about meeting you where you are, understanding your unique needs, and exploring how yoga can help you feel more ease in your daily movements. When our bodies live without resistance, it allows our mind to be at peace.
Let’s work together to uncover a practice that’s both deeply personal and transformative, helping you feel at home in your body every day.
